For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Respect others, and you will be respected.” You can cite examples to illustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

No one would be unfamiliar with this enlightening saying, “Respect others, and you will be respected.” Admittedly, acknowledging mutual respect’s inevitable presence in human life is an attitude crucial to boosting interpersonal relationships andacquiring a sense of fulfillment.
Why does showing respect to others matter so much in current society? Undoubtedly, respecting others is conducive to promoting mutual understanding and friendship, an indispensable element in establishing a harmonious society. If we attach great importance to respecting others in our daily contact, we will receive respect from others and our interpersonal relationship will become much more harmonious. Take one of my classmates as an example. He is accustomed to tolerating and respecting others’ habits and customs, even though they are rather different from his own ones. As a result, almost all classmates get on quite well with him and show great respect to him. On the contrary, those who tend to disregard others will fall into conflicts with others and a tense interpersonal relation. Without respect, there would be morearguments between parents and children due to their generation gap, more astonishing racial conflicts due to different religious beliefs and more disputes or even wars about state sovereignty due to the national interest of world’s superpowers.
To put it in a nutshell, showing esteem for others is of utmost importance in our daily life. Consequently, as college students——the backbone of our society, we are supposed to start from ourselves, learning to respect different habits and thoughts in both our study and life.
